Windows 98 stöder främst följande filsystem:
* fat16: This was the standard file system for DOS and early Windows versions. It was the default file system for smaller hard drives and floppy disks.
* fat32: Introduced with Windows 95 OSR2, FAT32 offered larger storage capacity compared to FAT16 and became the preferred file system for hard drives.
Windows 98 also had limited support for the following:
* ntfs: While Windows 98 could read NTFS volumes, it could not write till dem. This meant you could access files on NTFS partitions, but you couldn't create new files, folders, or modify existing ones.
It's important to note that Windows 98 did not natively support any other file systems like ext2/3/4 (Linux) or HFS+ (MacOS).
